I have a business plan for a short-term profit:
- Invent an improved version of a popular commodity product and protect it with patents
- Lobby politicians to ban the cheap commodity version in the name of environmentalism
- Force consumers to upgrade to your exclusive product
- Profit!

I think Microsoft already did this.
With the beginning of the new year a new law was enforced in Estonia, with that citizens are now compelled to sort their garbage. The need for large sorting plants now dropping I’m very eager to see whther the prices of garbage companies will drop or rise (I guess they now need different vehicles for different garbage).
